Children may bring a packed lunch into school or order a hot meal cooked onsite. The hot lunches are freshly prepared by Aspen catering services and cost £2.30 per meal. The options are meat and vegetarian dishes daily; jacket potato and pasta are served as an additional option on alternate days. A salad bar is available daily and a dessert and fresh fruit are also offered. Drinking water is provided for all children.

The Children and Families Act 2014 introduced universal free school meals for children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. 


Free School Meals (Years 3-6)


Free School Meals are provided to pupils of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Schools whose parents/carers are in receipt of the following qualifying benefits:


  • Income Support (IS)
  • Income Based Jobseekers Allowance (IBJSA)
  • Support under part VI of the Asylum and Immigration Act 1999
  • Child Tax credit only and whose annual income (as assessed by the Inland Revenue) does not exceed the threshold set by the      Treasury.
  • Guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
  • An income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)

Please note: Your free school meal entitlement will commence from the date your form is received and verified by the school.
