Our Learning this Week

Immersion

This week the children will be immersed in their Autumn term topic, Beside the Seaside. The week will have a historical focus, and the children will be learning about the seaside in the Victorian times in comparison to the seaside in the present day. 

We will be having an immersive seaside experience, from the comfort of our very own classroom! We will imagine we are travelling to the seaside! In Victorian times, people travelled by steam train, so we will be making our own model steam trains, listening to the sounds they made and creating our own tickets ready for our journey. 

Once at the seaside, the children will create their own puppet shows similar to the Punch and Judy shows of Victorian times. They will explore the texture of sand, and use buckets and spades to make sand castles and discuss what to pack for a trip to the seaside.
