Our learning this week:

We have had a great start to our new topic on World War II. This week, the children have been introduced to the countries involved in the war and have begun learning about the Allied and Axis powers. They have also explored some of the key events that led to the outbreak of war.

To help them understand what life was like during this period, the children planted vegetables and discussed how families were encouraged to grow their own food during wartime. This provided a good introduction to some of the changes and challenges people faced at home.

The children also created their own propaganda posters, learning how governments used posters to share important messages, encourage support for the war effort and influence public behaviour.  I have been very impressed by the children's enthusiasm and curiosity throughout the week. They have asked thoughtful questions, contributed well to discussions and shown a real interest in the topic.
